Reducing impact

Sustainability

At Rypos, we ‘re constantly improving our operations and designs to reduce our customers’ impact on the environment.

Internally, we’re benchmarking our carbon footprint with Scope 1 & Scope 2 analysis and enhancing our accountability and advocacy through ongoing Environmental, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG) goals. Externally, our annual reports measure the key impacts our diesel particulate filters are making, and we’re hosting webinars and lunch and learns to educate our customers and community on the importance of reducing black carbon and carbon dioxide emissions. Key sustainability figures

How Rypos is helping reduce emissions

Rypos’ proprietary active diesel particulate filter is the only product of its kind. Unlike other filters, Rypos DPFs are reliable and self-cleaning, requiring no intervention by an operator during their long life.

Once installed, Rypos DPFs immediately start working to eliminate up to 95% of particulate matter from diesel exhaust, no matter the application, and without affecting engine performance.

Work with us

If you’re looking for a partner who will provide guidance and support you on your path to sustainability, you’ve come to the right place. Whether you manage TRU-equipped fleets, data centers, hospitals, port cranes, or other diesel-powered equipment, we can help you make an immediate, dramatic improvement in your local air quality and advance you toward meeting your Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG ) goals.

Diesel particulate matter (DPM)

Diesel rarely combusts completely, forming a combination of gases and DPM in the process.  Second only to CO₂ in its negative impact on climate change. DPM is a serious health threat, causing irritation to eyes, noses, throats, and lungs, and is a known carcinogen, contributing to cardiovascular disease, respiratory illness, and premature death.

Air quality regulations

Industry powers our economy, but the resulting poor air quality is estimated to be responsible for more than 100,000 premature deaths in the US every year. Government legislation has required diesel vehicles and equipment to meet significantly higher air quality standards over the past few decades, prompting businesses to search for the best ways to achieve regulatory compliance.

Reducing emergency power generation emissions

Diesel emergency generators are costly investments that must operate reliably when power is lost. They are required to comply with several local and federal emissions requirements. Rypos DPFs provide the most efficient and reliable compliance solution for emergency generators, reducing emissions on both old and new models by as much as 95% without affecting engine performance.

Reducing reefer fleet emissions

Rypos’ ULETRU (ultra-low emissions) diesel particulate filter reduces transport refrigeration unit (TRU) emissions over 85% to meet the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Tier 4 requirements. The self-cleaning filters work seamlessly with both Thermo King® and Carrier® refrigeration units without operator interaction.
