Ports are unique locations that connect inland communities with the sea. However, Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) emitted from port operations not only negatively affect the health and safety of seaport-adjacent and inland residents, but also have adverse effects on the environment. As one of the largest pieces of diesel-powered equipment in port operations, rubber tired gantry cranes (RTG) account for a large portion of the port’s overall particulate matter emissions. At Rypos, we are the only manufacturer of Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) verified for gantry crane applications (CARB Level 3+ since 2013), with over 100 systems installed on gantry cranes in a variety of ports. Our reliable, cost-effective DPFs remove up to 95% of harmful DPM from emissions immediately on installation, allowing port operators to extend the useful life of their cranes while meeting ever-increasing air quality requirements.
