However, Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) emitted from port operations not only negatively affect the health and safety of seaport-adjacent and inland residents, but also have adverse effects on the environment. As one of the largest pieces of diesel-powered equipment in port operations, rubber tired gantry cranes (RTG) account for a large portion of the port’s overall particulate matter emissions.
